UNDP Deputy Special Representative in the occupied Palestinian territory

Yasmine first joined UNDP in 1989 and has since served with UNDP, UNHCR, OCHA and Peacekeeping in a number of crisis/post-crisis countries, such as Afghanistan, Cambodia, the Balkans, the DRC and Sudan, as well as in Geneva and at the UN headquarters in New York. Prior to joining UNDP/PAPP, she worked with UNDP’s Bureau for Crisis Prevention & Recovery (BCPR) providing support to over 20 UNDP country offices in conflict/post-conflict countries.

She graduated with a Masters in Law from Stockholm University in 1987 with specialization in international law. She has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Long Island University teaching UN affairs and the Middle East. She has a Swedish mother and Egyptian father, and is married with two children.

In addition to her Swedish mother tongue, she speaks English and French as well as some Arabic.
