June 2000 - to November 2003: Programme Director, Electricity Network Rehabilitation Programme (ENRP), RBAS: ENRP is UNDP's contribution to the UN humanitarian "oil-for-food" programme and is the largest directly executed (DEX) programme in UNDP history. The programme has a budget of approximately one billion dollars and is staffed with more than 350 persons.

Additional Information: Management experience in large-scale UN humanitarian operations requiring an understanding of technical and organizational complexities in difficult political settings. Key member of the UN core management team working with UNOHCI and OIP on the humanitarian programme in northern Iraq. Management skills acquired at field and headquarters level. Prior to joining UNDP, management experience also obtained as a Captain in the Danish army. Exposure to the RC functions and UN reform initiatives as they affect field operations. Interpersonal skills: Major restructuring initiatives in FHSS/DAIS were implemented through application of the TQM methodology. At country level, have engaged extensively in UN agency negotiations concerning collective initiatives and or problem resolving ranging form joint programming, staffing matters, MSAs and common services.
